Council is proposing the first package of changes to the Fraser Coast Planning Scheme.

Amendment Package 1 is part of our long-term Building Better Neighbourhoods project – a roadmap for updating planning rules so our neighbourhoods are well-designed, connected, resilient and supported by the right infrastructure as the region grows.

In the coming months we will be asking the community to have their say on the proposed changes.

What are the Package 1 Amendments?

Amendment Package 1 represents an important step in keeping the region’s planning framework up to date and responsive to local needs. The proposed changes reflect new information, community feedback and Council priorities to support sustainable growth and protect the character of our region. Amendment Package 1 proposes updates to a range of scheme components, including:

  • Improvements to our Strategic Framework

  • Refinements to zoning and zone maps

  • Updated overlay codes and mapping

    (such as flood, biodiversity and coastal areas)

  • Revisions to local plan areas and precincts

  • Clarifications to development codes & definitions
